The "Strengthening Aboriginal Nursing Development" (STAND) program was established to provide a pathway for leadership development for Indigenous nurses working in British Columbia. Check back often to discover new leadership and learning opportunities.

Current Opportunity:

One Indigenous nurse will be selected to attend the Dorothy Wylie Health Leaders Institute in collaboration with the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) and the BCCNA for a one-day workshop of compelling conversation and learning focused around nursing leadership. The Workshop will be held on November 17, 2017 from 8:30am - 4:00pm at the Sheraton Wall Centre Hotel, Downtown Vancouver - Pavilion Ballroom.

Note, registration and breakfast will begin at 7:30am.

This all-expenses paid opportunity will enable the successful applicant to connect with colleagues, share innovations and gain invaluable leadership experience. Funding includes travel, accommodation the night of the 16th of November, incidentals in accordance with ARNBC's Travel Policies and registration for this one day event.

Note, while you may apply as often as you'd like, you can only win once.


Applicant must:
  • Be an Indigenous nurse working in British Columbia*.
  • Be in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of BC.
