The Association of Registered Nurses of BC

ARNBC held an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) on March 13, to vote on changes to our bylaws to enable electronic voting on issues important to the membership of the Association. At our 2017 Annual General Meeting, a number of members requested we add electronic voting therefore a change to our bylaws to allow for this was brought to our EGM. As B.C. is a geographically diverse province and nurses care for patients throughout the entire 24-hour day, 'in person' voting may limit the ability of many B.C. nurses to participate in the decision-making process. The proposed bylaw change did not pass citing concerns on the ability to engage in discussion prior to voting. As an Association we commit to exploring multiple ways of engaging in dialogue on key issues going forward.
