Partnering to Inform Policy
At the request of the Honourable Judy Darcy, Minister of Mental Health and Addictions, ARNBC, and the BC Coalition of Nursing Associations had the opportunity to organize a small but lively meeting with the Minister, nurses on the front-lines of mental health and addictions, and government to share the current status of what nurses are facing on a daily basis during the current opioid crisis. Much thanks to Minister Darcy for her eagerness to meet with nurses and hear our ideas and suggestions for the future. If you have any ideas or suggestions for the next steps the nursing profession should be taking to support nurses and develop healthy public policy to manage this crisis, please let us know - every idea is important.

Time to IGNITE the school year!
We can't believe summer is over either, but we know there are numerous nursing students who are both eager and anxious to get back into the swing of fall semester. If you're a student in a B.C. nursing program, check out IGNITE to see what sorts of programs and services we offer and be sure to put in an application to travel to Ottawa for our November SNAP opportunity. We are also welcoming new school chapters to the ARNBC student rep program, so if your school is not involved, connect with us for information by emailing
