Standing Together in a Time of Uncertainty

My first President's update comes at a time when our province is in a great deal of turmoil, which makes sitting down to gather my thoughts, emotions, and reflections a struggle - my nursing self wants to constantly be doing something to help. As nurses we need to almost be a CTAS 1 before we're still, which is why we're constantly voted the most trusted profession; because we will not stop until the work is done - and for the most part at all costs. more...

B.C. Shines Amongst Canada's 150 Nurses
In celebration of the Sesquicentennial, CNA is featuring 150 of Canada's most innovative and influential nurses. B.C. nurses nominated a number of their own to receive this award, and 25 were chosen.  Congratulations to B.C.'s 25!

First Nations Health Authority Clients are switching to BC PharmaCare
On October 1, 2017, all First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) clients will receive prescription drug coverage from the BC PharmaCare program. All patients will continue to be eligible for the medications they need, although a small number may need to adjust drug therapies as they switch from their current Health Canada coverage to the PharmaCare formulary. Nurse Practitioners – Don't Forget Funding is Available for Continuing Education
ARNBC, in partnership with the BC Coalition of Nursing Associations, has an ongoing education fund which provides one-time grants from the BC government to enable eligible BC nurse practitioners to complete education programs including local and distance courses and conferences; short term or long term programs; and group education sessions. ARNBC Takes CNA By Storm
We were delighted to attend the recent CNA AGM in Ottawa, with a full contingent of 15 voting delegates. All four of the resolutions ARNBC submitted were approved by membership, and we look forward to seeing them in action. Have a look at all of the 2017 resolutions.
