Welcome ARNBC's Interim Executive Director
The ARNBC Board is pleased to announce that Andrea Burton has taken on the role of Interim Executive Director of the Association, effective April 14th, 2017. Andrea will lead the ARNBC team while also maintaining her role as Director of Communications and Government Relations. Meanwhile, the search for a permanent ED is ongoing.

2017 Nursing Awards of Excellence
Nominations for the 2017 Nursing Awards of Excellence are underway. Consider nominating a deserving nurse from any designation for one of these prestigious awards. In collaboration with our Patient Advisory Committee, ARNBC also seeks to award the Quinn Fowlie Scholarship to a deserving young B.C. patient star who has benefited from the support and expert care provided by nurses throughout their young life. Consider nominating a young person in your life and give them a helping hand to the future.

New Programs for Students and New Grads
ARNBC is pleased to announce that Dawn Tisdale, RN, has joined the Association full-time and will be handling all student and new grad programming under the umbrella of IGNITE! Help Revise the CNA Code of Ethics
CNA is currently revising its Code of Ethics. ARNBC has been given the opportunity to review the draft and provide feedback and comments from B.C. nurses. Your voice is important. Review the proposed changes and provide your feedback using the webform provided or send us your comments via email to admin@arnbc.ca. Deadline is 4:30pm, April 26, 2017.

Celebrate Nursing Week with ARNBC
We would love to meet you! Come out to the ARNBC offices on May 12, 2017 between 11am and 4pm to meet some of the board and staff, see the office, have some snacks and even win prizes! Everyone is welcome.

Our Proud to Be... competition is also accepting entries until April 24th. You can write, sing, dance, videotape, draw, photograph - whatever your skill or hobby is, use it to tell us why you are proud to be a registered nurse or nurse practitioners. Prizes of $750 (first place), $500 (second place) and $350 (third place), will be awarded throughout nursing week.

Nurse Practitioners - Funding is Available for Continuing Education
ARNBC, in partnership with the BC Coalition of Nursing Associations, has an ongoing education fund which provides one-time grants from the BC government to enable eligible BC nurse practitioners to complete education programs including local and distance courses and conferences; short term or long term programs; and group education sessions. Check out the NP Continuing Education Funding page and apply now!

2017 AGM & Innovation Forum
Save the date! Our AGM will take place the evening of June 26 at the Anvil Centre in New Westminster. Preceding the business meeting will be our popular Innovation Forum. If you have a project or innovation you would like to present to BC nurses, submissions are open until May 5, 2017. We also have special opportunities for students and Aboriginal nurses.
