About Quinn Fowlie
2015 winner and scholarship namesake
Quinn Fowlie being presented with his cheque
The namesake and inspiration for the Quinn Fowlie Scholarship is a bright and charming recent high school graduate from the Lower Mainland. Quinn was born lacking most of his esophagus, with the remaining part attached directly to his windpipe (known as Esophageal Atresia). Before his first birthday, he underwent dozens of surgeries, spending the first part of his life in intensive care. His condition requires a trach tube in his throat to keep his lungs clear. Quinn has been accompanied and befriended by nurses throughout his youth and shared his respect and appreciation for the profession at the inaugural 2015 ARNBC Awards Gala.
